- The Kharwar have various putative origins. Some may be traced to Palamu region, now in the state of Jharkhand, while others may have lived in the Sone vally.
- Khawar is a scheduled tribe of Jharkhand. Khawar is a tribe with which there is a lot of controversy.
- There is a difference between scholars about their place of origin. In relation to their names, it is said to be called "Khwar" due to the work of Kikar Rasar and the building of the house.
- Khwarar became a changed form of this "Khairwar".
